EU-Russia and a neighbourhood in crisis

18 June 2014

Even though the echoes of last year’s Vilnius summit have slowly faded away, the Ukraine-Russia crisis continues to cast a long shadow over the future of the EU Eastern Neighbourhood Policy. And while the presidential elections in Ukraine may bring some hope, the future of the region remains precarious. It is in this context that the EUISS organised the third EU-Russia Task Force meeting on 18 June 2014 in Brussels. The experts invited discussed the latest developments in Ukraine and other future challenges, with a special focus on those EU neighbours that have choosen not to pursue EU Association Agreements. Alongside participants from EU member states, the EUISS welcomed experts from Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
