African futures discussion with El Grand Continent

On 23 June 2021, El Grand Continent hosted live virtual event in Spanish looking at how the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) can make the African continent more integrated, resilient and prosperous. During the event, EUISS Senior Associate Analyst Dr Clara Portela presented the Chaillot Paper African Futures 2030: free trade, peace and prosperity.

Ángel Carro-Castrillo (former EU diplomat) also intervened as external discussant, and Ambassador Ángel Losada Fernández (former EU Special Representative for the Sahel) provided keynote remarks. The discussion was moderated by Carlo Palleschi (La Sapienza University).
