On 30 September, the EUISS held its second meeting on ‘Recasting EU Civilian Crisis Management’ in Brussels. The project aims to describe and analyse the evolution of EU civilian crisis management (CCM).
On 27 September 2016, the EUISS and the Slovak presidency of the Council of the EU organised a high-level conference focusing on the security and defence aspects of the EU Global Strategy.
A closed-door workshop and a public conference on ‘Prospects for EU-India Security Cooperation’ was organised by the ORF, in collaboration with the EUISS and Chatham House, on 26 September, 2016, in New Delhi.

On 20 September 2016, the EUISS held a second workshop on European defence to discuss the forthcoming Security and Defence Implementation Plan as part of the EUGS follow-up process.
The EUISS and the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) held their first joint seminar exploring prospects for greater strategic cooperation between the EU and Japan.
On 13 July, the EUISS, together with the UN Liaison Office on Peace and Security (UNLOPS) and the Centre on International Peace Operations (ZIF), co-hosted a seminar on peacekeeping in Brussels.
On 6 July 2016, the EUISS welcomed a group of experts and officials to discuss the current state of affairs and future opportunities for European defence policy.
