Recasting EU Civilian Crisis Management

30 September 2016

On 30 September, the EUISS held its second meeting on ‘Recasting EU Civilian Crisis Management’ in Brussels. The project aims to describe and analyse the evolution of EU civilian crisis management (CCM). Following a first meeting on 5 July, this event was built around the presentation of papers by authors for the forthcoming EUISS Report. Papers have addressed issues relating to civilian CSDP, civil-military relations, the emerging role of JHA agencies in CCM, CCM and counter-terrorism, as well as the role of civil society in CCM. The meeting brought together approximately 30 people from the EUISS, the EEAS, FRONTEX, the European Parliament, the think tank community and civil society.
