EUISS at Cybersecurity conference 2021

02 September 2021

On 3 September, the EUISS co-organised the Cybersecurity Conference in Bled, in cooperation with the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The Institute organised a session on "Cybersecurity cooperation in the Western Balkans" with the participation of representatives from partner countries in the Western Balkans and the European Commission. The purpose of the panel was to facilitate joint reflection on the needs and priorities for cooperation.

The discussion focused, among others, on operational and legislative institutional mechanisms for risk assessment, information sharing, and prevention. The conclusions of this session will feed into the preparations for the EU-Western Balkans Summit planned for the second half of 2021. The same day, the EUISS hosted informal consultation with delegates from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.
