The EU and global governance: rules, power and priorities

The purpose of this seminar was threefold. First, to discuss what is distinctive in the EU approach to global governance, drawing a balance sheet of the EU commitment to promote a rule-based multilateral order. Second, to assess the performance of the EU and other international actors in managing key challenges such as shaping a comprehensive approach to security and development, supporting non-proliferation and disarmament regimes, and promoting human rights. Third, to draw concrete policy implications and define the priorities for enhancing the EU contribution to effective multilateralism.
