On 26 January 2018, the EUISS organised a public conference to present a report on Chinese and Russian defence industries and to discuss the issue of European arms exports to Asia.
On 2 October 2017, the EUISS and the Estonian Presidency of the Council of the EU organised a high-level conference on hybrid threats. During three panels focusing on the current state of play, cyber resilience and strategic communications, the conference encouraged debate about the efforts made by the EU to counter hybrid threats.
The EUISS Annual Conference ‘The EU Global Strategy: translating vision into action’ took place on 20-21 June in Brussels. The focus of the Conference was the implementation of the EU Global Strategy (EUGS).
The EUISS and the Maltese Presidency of the Council of the EU organised a high-level conference on the EU Global Strategy (EUGS). Following a panel focusing on how the EUGS has driven the EU’s and member states’ foreign policy since June 2016, the conference encouraged debate on the security and defence aspects of the EUGS and the EU’s crisis management strategy for Libya.
On 25 November, the EUISS organised an event focusing on the Security and Defence Implementation Plan (SDIP). As a follow up to the EU Global Strategy (EUGS), the Plan sets a new level of ambition for the EU in security and defence.
On 18 November 2016, the EUISS, in collaboration with the China Institutes for Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), hosted the EU-China Strategic Dialogue in Brussels.
On 27 September 2016, the EUISS and the Slovak presidency of the Council of the EU organised a high-level conference focusing on the security and defence aspects of the EU Global Strategy.
A closed-door workshop and a public conference on ‘Prospects for EU-India Security Cooperation’ was organised by the ORF, in collaboration with the EUISS and Chatham House, on 26 September, 2016, in New Delhi.
On 22 September, the EUISS and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) co-organised a conference in Brussels on the protection of migrants.
