Climate change and European foreign policy after COP21

12 January 2016

This conference brought together European policy experts to review the COP21 climate conference in Paris, and to discuss the integration of climate change into the EU Global Strategy on Foreign and Security Policy (EUGS). The first session focused on development, adaptation, and climate finance policies to manage climate impacts, while the second addressed the related security, migration and fragility risks. The last two sessions looked at how to ensure continued international action on climate mitigation, and at the priorities for European climate diplomacy in the years ahead. Laurence Tubiana, French Special Envoy and Ambassador for Climate Change, provided the keynote address.
