On 15 March 2018, the EUISS and the Center for International Peace Operations (ZIF), in cooperation with the EEAS Crisis Management and Planning Directorate and the UN Liaison Office for Peace and Security, organised a joint UN-EU expert workshop.

On 26 January 2018, the EUISS organised a public conference to present a report on Chinese and Russian defence industries and to discuss the issue of European arms exports to Asia.
On Thursday 25 January, the CSCAP EU Committee convened for its fifth annual meeting in Brussels. The Committee held a workshop on arms exports, defence markets, and new dynamics in EU-Asia relations.
On 22 January 2018 in Sarajevo, the EUISS launched its newest project – Balkan Futures. The project is implemented by the EUISS and supported by the European Fund for the Balkans (EFB).
