On 31 May 2022, Daniel Fiott – Security and Defence Editor – represented the EU Institute for Security Studies at the first-ever European Defence Innovation Day (EDID).

On 30 May, the EU Institute for Security Studies and the European External Action Service (EEAS) organised a seminar on the Strategic Compass and CSDP partnerships.

On 25 May, the EUISS and the French Presidency of the EU, with the support of the European External Action Service, organised a roundtable on “Countering Information Manipulation in CSDP”.

On 24 May, the EUISS celebrated 15 years of the Civilian Planning and Conduct Capability (CPCC) with the European External Action Service at the High-Level Conference “Shaping the future of Civilian CSDP”.

On 12 May 2022, the Institute held its first Twitter Space, discussing geopolitical frontlines in Africa, a topic covered in our African Spaces Chaillot Paper.

On 12 May, the EUISS and the Africa Working Party of the Council of the EU (COAFR) held their seventeenth meeting to discuss the new geopolitical frontlines in Africa.

The Institute is glad to welcome Dr. Ghanem as the new Senior Analyst in charge of the Middle East and North Africa portfolio.

The purpose of this workshop was to identify the junctions between the fields of cybersecurity and information manipulation in order to better understand the underpinning challenges for the policymakers and propose potential solutions.
