On 4 February 2025, the Countering Foreign Interference (CFI) project held an online training session for the alumni of the EUI STG Young African Leaders Programme (YALP). The training focused on the threats posed by Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI) to the EU and African partner countries and measures to address them.

Participants from different African regions and countries familiarised with the concepts of FIMI, disinformation and broader hybrid threat landscape. The training, tailored with specific regional lenses, touched upon different African case studies. Participants interacted with the trainers and among themselves, sharing personal experience and country specific insights and good practices. Finally, the group discussed both the importance of accountability in reporting and capacity building within the African information ecosystem.
