Our Director Steven Everts argued in Het Financieele Dagblad that the fact that US foreign policy is currently in the hands of no more than twenty people, including Trump himself and his envoy Steve Witkoff, is taking its toll.

"Peace talks, such as the Dayton Agreement on Bosnia at the time, are discussed with many stakeholders. Trump cannot control all of that himself," he said. "In addition, none of the European leaders seem to dare to ask him what he wants now. And then Trump changes his mind again." (in Dutch)
