Fast-track channels for rare earth licensing have been agreed between the EU and China, but speaking to Euronews, Tim Rühlig questioned the stability of the situation. He noted that European companies will get licenses for a few months but must then reapply, a process that will take time and money. 

"The major concern is that this is also a way to incentivise the purchase of clean technologies from China in detriment of domestic production," he added.
