Speaking to Deutsche Welle (in Ukrainian) on the idea of 'symbolic' EU membership for Ukraine, Ondřej Ditrych stressed that "neither France nor Germany see it as a replacement for full membership". When Berlin and Paris refer to "integrated or associated status", they are rather exploring how Ukraine could benefit from integration even before its formal accession.
He added that, for Ukraine to maintain this accession momentum, its government must fully seize the opportunity of this new context.
