The Kremlin is deliberately targeting sea routes because they are one of Ukraine's most vulnerable points, explained Ondřej Ditrych in the Telegraf. "About 90% of grain and related products are exported through the Black Sea. At the same time, it is worth noting that the Russian strikes are not taking place in a vacuum, but in the context of a broader escalation of air campaigns on both sides."
Ukraine is also attacking Russia's Black Sea trade, which affects oil and grain exports from the Russian Federation, but Ondřej notes that there are significant differences between the actions of the two sides. "Russia is acting much more irresponsibly, by deliberately striking civilian targets." (in Ukrainian)
