Ondrej Ditrych on the Commission's proposed new EU enlargement model

Discussing the European Commission's new model for EU enlargement, Ondřej Ditrych told Deutsche Welle that while the new rules bring the prospect of membership closer for candidate countries, "this will come at a potential cost" in the form of additional conditions and safeguards against backsliding on democracy and the rule of law, which would remain in place for 15 years after accession.
