Joris Teer warned in the South China Morning Post that the EU must urgently unite on re-industrialisation and economic security or risk being caught in the US–China tech war and forced to side with one or the other.

"There is no democracy, economic development, well-being, social protection or modernisation without peace, security and capacity to defend our societies from war," said Joris.
