In an interview with iROZHLAS on the EU's role in the semiconductor industry's supply chains, Joris Teer highlighted the strategic importance of Dutch company ASML, which manufactures all of the world's extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography machines (in Czech). "No one else in the world knows how to do this. As the EU, we don't do everything; we don't cover the entire sector. But we do one thing so well that we are strategically indispensable."

Joris argued that without ASML, the production of semiconductors, especially the more advanced ones, would be incredibly complicated and likely impossible.
