Joris Teer was quoted in Het Financieele Dagblad and Cinco Días on Beijing's rare earth export controls and their impact on European rearmament, with the Chinese government announcing that the rare earth export licence application process will be denied for any military use.

"Export permits for rare earth metals used for defence purposes are being categorically denied," he said, adding that China is also asking companies to share sensitive information for permits, jeopardising their competitive position.

"This paperwork will give the Chinese authorities detailed information on who is using their rare earths, in what and for what purpose," he warned. (in Dutch and Spanish)
