Discussing the importance of the Western Balkan region for Europe's defence, Bojana Zorić told The European Correspondent that the EU's security architecture doesn't stop at its borders, and closer cooperation with candidate countries remains crucial for Europe's defence readiness.

"Anchoring the region more deeply in the EU's security framework, could increase efficiency and reduce costs," she argues in the Analysis she co-wrote with Iliriana Gjoni. "At the same time, it could play a crucial role in strengthening the region's integration with the EU, encouraging further political and institutional reforms needed for full EU membership."
