On 12–13 May, in partnership with the European External Action Service, the Institute co-organised a Track 1.5 Dialogue on EU engagement in the Indo-Pacific and EU–ASEAN relations to identify areas of alignment, divergence, and emerging priorities.
In a context of increasing geoeconomics tensions, the dialogue examined how international cooperation is evolving, what are the new avenues for cooperation and which norms and policies remain essential for stability.
Participants explored how partners can respond collectively to shared challenges, such as supply chain disruptions and climate-related risks, despite differing capabilities and constraints. Discussions also focused on how diversification, resilience-building, and reduced dependencies can be pursued without increasing fragmentation.
