Job description
The EUISS is negotiating to implement a 3-year project funded by the European Union with a focus on Economic Security. The EUISS seeks to hire a pro-active and hands-on Project Manager who will coordinate the organisation of the project, including providing expert business support to ensure smooth implementation. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Project Manager will work closely with the project core team and partner organisations. The role may entail occasional travel. The employment offer for this position is contingent upon the successful confirmation of the project contract.
Main responsibilities
- Project Management: budget and financial planning, reporting and related administrative tasks;
- Events management: planning, organising and delivery of events, including drafting the terms of reference and budget, logistics and travel arrangements;
- Travel and related logistics support as necessary;
- HR: supporting the Team Leader in recruiting experts, preparing contracts and coordinating the same;
- Reporting: preparation of activity reports, financial and other reports as necessary. Administrative and financial reporting in line with EU service contract procedures;
- Research and preparation of documentation relevant for project reporting purposes (e.g. indicators reporting);
- Liaising with partner organisations regarding their project-related administrative and reporting obligations (e.g. collection of timesheets, invoices etc.) to ensure the timely and compliant implementation of the project;
- Contributing to any other project-related activities as required.
Eligibility criteria:
On the closing date for applications, candidates must fulfil all the following conditions:
- Be a national of a member state of the European Union who enjoys full rights as a citizen attested by a recent extract from judicial records and/or certificate of good conduct;
- Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by national law on military service;
- Be physically fit to perform the required duties.
Selection criteria:
Professional experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in the project management;
- Proven knowledge of administrative and financial rules and procedures for EU funded projects and/or service contracts;
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience in EU Institutions and/or in EU-funded projects, including collaboration with project partners from the EU, national governments, civil society and private sector.
Qualifications and skills
- A university degree in in a field relevant to this assignment, i.e., law, political sciences, economics, or any other relevant discipline.
- A professional interest or experience in the subject of Economic Security or closely related field is desirable.
- Knowledge of event management software and proficient use of common IT tools and Microsoft technologies (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Excellent organisational skills paired with the ability to work well under pressure and to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines;
- The ability to accurately organise, process and manage administrative and financial documents and data;
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary environment;
- High professional values and standards characterised by proactiveness, diligence, integrity and confidentiality;
- Minimum level of C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in written and oral communication in English.
