"Europeans must show to the US that attempting to foment a change in Greenland would be costly to Washington," urged Giuseppe Spatafora in Defense News.
"It would be a disaster for allied cooperation and a gift to the Chinese and Russian presence in the region, which the US claims is a national security risk," he added.
Giuseppe argued that all of the United States' goals can be achieved through cooperation with Denmark and Europe, and that Europe will need to demonstrate this to the US not only in words but through concrete actions.
