On 21 January 2020, the EUISS and the Africa Working Party of the Council of the EU (COAFR) jointly organised the sixth meeting on sub-Saharan Africa in Brussels.
The meeting looked at political and economic developments in Angola and expectations for the year ahead. Dr Fernando Jorge Cardoso (University Institute of Lisbon) gave a reading of main current and future policy challenges, focusing on domestic politics, particularly João Lourenço’s reform agenda, Angola’s foreign relations and role in regional peace and stability.
EUISS-COAFR meetings are coordinated and chaired by EUISS Senior Analyst Giovanni Faleg.
