Giovanni Faleg speaks at IISS Webinar on Sub-Saharan Africa Risk Outlook

On 14 September, Giovanni Faleg participated in a webinar organised by the International Institute for Security Studies (IISS) on the topic: “Sub-Saharan Africa Risk Outlook: Internationalisation of protracted conflicts and faltering responses”. 

Dr Faleg examined the impact of the war in Ukraine on ongoing conflicts in Africa. In particular, he highlighted the reciprocal relationship between food insecurity and conflicts on the continent. Additionally, he discussed EU responses to recent developments and the changing geopolitical context in Sub-Saharan African conflicts.
