EUISS engaged in the EU Military Committee Mini Away Day

On 2 June 2021, Daniel Fiott - Security and Defence Editor at the EUISS - was invited to moderate a conference organised by the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU and the EU Military Committee (EUMC). The meeting was organised in the context of the EUMC ‘Mini Away Day’ and the Chairman of the EUMC, General Claudio Graziano, and senior figures from the International Maritime Organisation, the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Portuguese Ministry of Defence and The Atlantic Centre were present. With military representatives from EU member states in the audience, the conference focused on maritime security and the EU Strategic Compass.
