Alice Ekman at conference on smart cities
On September 20, EUISS Senior Analyst Alice Ekman participated in a conference organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania on the topic of “Cybersecurity risks and mitigations for smart and connected cities”.
In her presentation, Alice Ekman explained why the development of smart cities is generating geopolitical challenges and choices in a context of prolonged technological rivalry and emerging infrastructure race. She also detailed China’s smart city strategy and ambitions globally, considering the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the testing and promotion of several tech components of the smart city ecosystem.
