The 2nd Indonesia–EU Track 1.5 Dialogue on Foresight took place on 9–10 February 2026 at Gadjah Mada University in Yogyakarta. Co-organised by the EUISS and EU Institutions, and hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, the dialogue brought together representatives from government, academia, think tanks, and civil society, from both Indonesia and the European Union.
The event provided a good opportunity for in-depth EU-Indonesia exchanges in areas identified as strategic for the future of the bilateral partnership: peace, security and multilateral global governance, climate change and environmental protection, trade and economic resilience, and technological advance/ digitalization.
The exchanges on EU-Indonesia relations and on foresight as a policy tool have expanded and reinforced bilateral dialogue networks, identified key areas of cooperation to strengthen further and overall, spurred both sides’ ambitions to strengthen their partnership.
