A Strategic Compass for Mediterranean maritime security

On 26 May 2021, Daniel Fiott - Security and Defence Editor at the EUISS - spoke at a webinar organised by EUNAVFOR Med Operation IRINI in collaboration with La Sapienza University of Rome and the NATO Defence College Foundation. The webinar was the fifth such event in a programme of activities led by EUNAVFOR IRINI in the run up to the 2021 Shade MED conference, which is a forum where different nations and organisations interested in the Mediterranean share awareness and enhance de-confliction in the maritime space. The 2021 edition of Shade MED will be held after the summer and the webinars are designed to bring experts in the field together to discuss maritime security in the Mediterranean. Daniel was joined at the session by Rear Admiral Fabio Agostini, Operation Commander of EUNAVFOR Med IRINI, and representatives from the EU Military Staff, NATO and the United States Navy.
