Security and Stability in West Africa: EUISS-COAFR Breakfast Meeting

On 29 January, the EUISS and the Africa Working Party of the Council of the EU (COAFR) jointly organised in Brussels the first of a series of informal breakfast meetings on sub-Saharan Africa. The informal meeting focused on regional security risks in West Africa, with a closer look at Ivory Coast and Ghana.

Ned Dalby (Senior Research Analyst, International Crisis Group) presented the main trends for 2019. Participants then exchanged views on actions and policies that could improve stability and mitigate the risks of violence. The breakfast meetings are coordinated and chaired by EUISS Senior Analyst Giovanni Faleg
