Giovanni Faleg speaks on the European strategic approach to crisis management

On 27 October 2021, Dr Giovanni Faleg participated to a webinar organised by the Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) and the Crisis Management Centre Finland (CMC) on 'Developing the European strategic approach to crisis management'.

Participants discussed the challenges and future prospects of EU crisis management. Dr Faleg highlighted a changing threat environment in the EU’s neighbourhood and beyond, including violent extremism, hybrid threats and compound risks. He stressed the need for the EU to increase the coherence and adaptability to its approach to crisis management, in the face of more complex crisis and conflicts situations.
