Giovanni Faleg at seminar on maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea

On 17-18 November, Senior Analyst Giovanni Faleg participated in the seminar “Consolidating maritime security in the Gulf of Guinea: present and future of an alliance for stability and prosperity”, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, and the Ministry of Defence of Spain.

The two-day seminar took place at Casa Africa in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and was attended by government officials and experts from Africa and Europe. Dr Faleg chaired the first roundtable on “Geopolitics of the Gulf of Guinea and global interests: development, terrorism and governance”, and delivered concluding remarks at the end of the seminar on the geostrategic relevance of the Gulf of Guinea for the future of Africa-Europe relations.
