EUISS co-organises the 15th CSDP high-level course

14 December 2020

From 14-18 December 2020, multiple EUISS analysts contributed to the fourth module of the 15th High-Level Course on the Common Security and Defence Policy (‘Altiero Spinelli’ promotion). Organised virtually in 2020, the EUISS worked alongside the European Security and Defence College, the Bulgarian Diplomatic Institute and the Centre of Excellence for Crisis Management and Disaster Response to provide quality training to senior officials from the EU, EU member states and partners.

EUISS Director, Gustav Lindstrom, initiated the module with a keynote speech on the EU as a global actor. Deputy Director, Florence Gaub, then participated in a panel discussion on the EU’s integrated approach and the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by a panel discussion on the future of the CSDP with Daniel Fiott, Security and Defence Editor at the EUISS and the Institute’s interlocutor for the module. The course also benefitted from contributions from Stanislav Secrieru on the EU’s Neighbourhood Policy, Simona R. Soare on EU-NATO relations and Katariina Mustasilta on climate security.
