Daniel Fiott speaks at the Defence Committee of the Dutch Parliament

On 9 March 2022, Daniel Fiott – Security and Defence Editor at the EU Institute for Security Studies – presented his views on the European Defence Fund to the Standing Committee on Defence of the House of Representatives of the Netherlands.

Daniel discussed the emergence of the European Defence Fund and provided parliamentarians with an overview of the lessons learned from the precursor programmes called the Preparatory Action on Defence Research and the European Defence Industrial Development Programme. Daniel made reference to the early success of the precursor programmes but called for greater European collaboration to make the Fund work over its first phase to 2027.
