COWEB working session on security in the Western Balkans

On 5 March, the Institute organised a closed-door roundtable entitled ‘Security challenges in the Western Balkans in the current geopolitical context’ for a delegation of the European Council’s Working Party on the Western Balkans Region (COWEB). The meeting was convened by Bojana Zorić, Associate Analyst for Western Balkans in cooperation with the Institute Jacques Delors and with impulse intervention provided by Sciences Po (CERI).

The roundtable identified internal and external geopolitical challenges in the region and delved into their geopolitical positioning in relation to the EU. Likewise, it provided an overview of third actors’ interference in the region and discussed appropriate EU responses to counter rival narratives.
