  • On 28 October, the EUISS and the European Policy Centre (EPC) organised a small closed-door session with a view to contribute to the debate regarding a new EU Integrated Border Management (IBM) strategy, the design of which was assigned to Frontex in the agency’s recently expanded mandate. The meeting, which convened experts and policymakers from various think tanks, EU institutions and other international organisations, also addressed the role the EU’s technological border management tools could occupy in such an updated IBM strategy.

  • On 30 September, the EUISS held its second meeting on ‘Recasting EU Civilian Crisis Management’ in Brussels. The project aims to describe and analyse the evolution of EU civilian crisis management (CCM).

  • On 13 July, the EUISS, together with the UN Liaison Office on Peace and Security (UNLOPS) and the Centre on International Peace Operations (ZIF), co-hosted a seminar on peacekeeping in Brussels.

  • On 5 July, the EUISS launched its project on ‘Reshaping EU Civilian Crisis Management’ in Brussels.
